Give weaknesses and strengths of articles of confederation

Assignment task:

How can I answer them with a good discussion.. The book is give me liberty by Eric Toner ed6 vol1 - 1st discussion The Articles of Confederation had some strengths, such as its emphasis on state autonomy and cooperation, but it had significant weaknesses that ultimately led to its downfall. One of the most significant weaknesses was the lack of a strong central government, which meant that there was no executive branch, national court system, or ability to enforce laws or regulate commerce effectively. Additionally, each state had equal representation in Congress, regardless of population size or economic power, which often led to deadlocks and a lack of progress on important issues. Finally, the federal government had no power of taxation under the Articles, which meant that it had no means of raising funds to finance its operations or pay off debts incurred during the Revolutionary War. Given the vastly different circumstances and needs of the United States today, it is unlikely that the Articles would work as an effective governing framework in the present day. A strong central government is necessary to address complex national issues and ensure equal representation for all citizens.

And 2nd discussion - The Articles of Confederation had some strengths and weaknesses but mostly weaknesses, which was why it did not work and ultimately failed. It had a lot of significant weaknesses, but one of the biggest was its lack of central government, which meant that there was no executive branch, the national court system, or the ability to enforce laws or regulate commerce effectively. It also allowed all states to have equal representation, which meant that there were often ties when trying to resolve issues. It did not matter the size of the population or how good of an economy it had; they were all equally represented, which often led to ties and no progress to be continued on specific issues that may have been very important. Another major weakness was that the Federal government had no power of taxation under the Articles of Confederation, which meant that the government could not raise funds to pay off the debt it accumulated during the Revolutionary War, and it could not finance its operations. One of its major strengths was that the states had the power to decide on their own what they wanted to do. There was also good cooperation when the Articles were in effect. Ultimately the Articles of Confederation would not work in today's age because in order for things to function, a strong central government is needed to operate.

The topic is what were the primary weaknesses and strengths of the Articles of Confederation and would it work today?
