The process of lipid metabolism involves synthesis and degradation of the lipid stores. It also involves the production of the structural and functional lipids characteristic of individual tissues. This unit gives an overview of lipid metabolisma t the cellular level, which would provide enough background for understanding the aberrations with regard to lipid metabolism and its related diseases.
