Give a prediction for your results

Problem 1: Generate a hypothesis based on your question. Remember, a hypothesis is a testable statement, in answer to your question. (Already answered below)

If bananas exposed to ethylene mature more quickly than bananas not exposed to ethylene, this would indicate that ethylene can hasten banana ripening. Overall, this lab will provide us with the chance to investigate how ethylene affects banana ripening and determine whether ethylene speeds up the process. Our findings will either confirm or disprove our prediction that ethylene will hasten the ripening of bananas.

Problem 2: Based on your hypothesis, give a prediction for your results. Make this and "If...then..." statement. "If the bananas are treated with ethylene, then...". Make sure to predict how many bananas will be in each category (green, ripe, spoiled) your experiment will run. You will need a different prediction for each of your groups, four predictions in all. 4 groups that include (Uncovered Treated, Uncovered Control, Covered Untreated, Covered treated).
