Problem
The authors and Professor described how the Critical Thinking standards and the use of language are closely tied together. In specific, Professor echoed the authors that "political correctness" is often used to alter or change the focus of the conversation at hand for political or ideological purposes. The term "political correctness" was coined to indicate the ridiculous extremes to which some people have gone to avoid using language that might offend or insult. Author's Example: Using the words "economically disadvantaged" rather than the word "poor."
