Forensic odontology is an important to use to determine and help in a murder or homicide case and establish an examination of the individual. In the article, "Experimental studies of forensic odontology to aid in the identification process" by Susmita Saxeona, Preeti Sharma, and Nitin Gupta (2010), states forensic odontology also refers to forensic dentistry that involves bite mark physical evidences and scientist use the bite mark to identify and compare the dental record of the victim or suspect (x-rays are the best when comparing dental records to the person's teeth can determine if the teeth are the same). Every individual has unique teeth from other people. The forensic odontology can determine the age, race and DNA by using the teeth records (Saxeona, Sharma & Gupta, 2010).
