Research Proposal:
Select a border security area of interest related to a geographical jurisdiction an CURRENT issue. They will examine in-depth the intra- and inter-national issues associated with the problem in this region. The analysis will include a look at the nations involved, their respective security apparatuses and any private ( legal or otherwise) security organization operating in the area. At the end of the assignment you will also address how this problem affects the security of the region and discuss some of the potential improvements that can be made to improve border security. all academic terminology and sources must be utilized using APA
Research Proposal: The research proposal is the preliminary component to be handed in prior to the actual research assignment. This document will consist of a title page and a short annotated bibliography. The students will outline their topic and state the purpose of the study in form of a question. ( example: Will security in the Horn of Africa improve or decline in the coming years?) Remember: border security can be economic, demographic or military in nature. They will briefly outline their body of arguments in discussing what their focus will be and how they will conduct the research. This will include a list of countries, agencies and subnational groups which operate in the area. ( example: AU, Kenya, Al-Qaeda, Al-Shabab). At the end they will include a short list of four sources they will be using for research purposes along with a three sentence paragraph discussing each of the sources usefulness
