Genomic clone is the piece of a DNA taken from genome of a cell or an animal, and spliced into the bacteriophage or other kind of cloning vector. A genomic clone might contain coding regions, exons, 5' flanking regions, introns,  5' untranslated regions, 3' flanking regions, 3' untranslated areas, or it may contain none of these it might only contain intergenic DNA (usually not a required outcome of the cloning experiment).
