Genes and genetic variations

Assignment:

So far in this course, we have explored genes and genetic variations. However, sometimes phenotypes are influenced not by the gene sequence but by whether or not the gene is expressed (turned "on"). The regulation of gene expression is accomplished by many complex mechanisms. One such mechanism is epigenetics. Epigenetics, translated as "above genes", describes how the addition of covalent modifications to the genome regulates gene expression. You will investigate a topic related to epigenetics that is of interest to you.  You will likely need to do some additional research on your topic. Your post should include a discussion of how epigenetics and differential gene expression relates to your topic. There are no specific requirements here; this week is open-ended, so have fun with it!

Your answer must be, typed, double-spaced, Times New Roman font (size 12), one-inch margins on all sides, APA format.
