fundamental part of any successful organization

Fundamental part of any successful organization, particularly one that is dedicated to continued improvement. ST Microelectronics committed fifty hours per year, which roughly comes out to almost a week and a half of training every year. This is a significant investment from the business in time and money but clearly shows how important a well trained staff is to the future success of the business.

Company's training policy prior to considering opportunities of employment since continued learning is extremely important to me. World class companies like IBM and Motorola both mandate a minimum of forty hours of training for each associate (Juh, 1994). This level of investment in their associates' help the companies retain valued associated that consider training as critical to their retaining cutting edge knowledge in their jobs. Most companies that require the best skilled employees understand the importance of investing in their continued learning.

This type of investment also pays back the company with better decisions and a higher skilled workforce.

What type of investment does your company make in associate training? Is it world class?
