You all have read the Bernie Madoff case (Case One). Team A will post its analysis of the case and the answers at the end of the case. Non-team members are expected to participate in the conversation resulting from Team A’s posting.
In addition, they (all teams) will address the following questions:
From ethical and legal perspectives, what do you feel business has learned from the Bernie Madoff financial fraud?
If you had been an investor with this company, should you have been skeptical of its actions? Why do you feel no one spoke out to address the issues in the case?
If ethical leadership and a corporate culture of expectations of legal compliance and ethical actions had been in place, would this situation have been avoided? If so, how? If not, why not?
