"Frida" is a. biography of the life of Mexican artist Frida Khalo played by (Selma Hayek). She is a woman who came from a very simple background. She rose to fame as an artist with a very interesting vision for her craft. She endured a very difficult relationship with her husband/mentor Diego Rivera (Alfred Molina). Many of her works are from her many experiences in life. She is also an artist who many feel painted from her soul.
I want you to write a critical analysis of the movie "Frida". In It I want you to answer the questions below within your writing. This assignment should be no more than three (3) pages in length.
1. Frida endured many hardships in her life. Share some of your views on how she dealt with these tragedies. In your opinion, do you feel they had an affect on her, if so why and how?
2. What are your impressions/interpretations of the paintings that you saw, and the manner in which they were used throughout the movie?
3. What are your interpretations on how the director used some of the paintings to show transitions in time? In other words, what did you think of how the director moved from one point In time (transition) to another? Give examples using specific scenes(at least 2 scenes) and the paintings used.
