Major Assignment: Project Plan
• For your major project assignment you should select your own project. This may be something happening in your life at the moment or something that is to happen. You should research your project and then construct a project plan. You must ensure that your project plan includes
• Scope statement
• Wbs
• Organizational chart
• Stakeholders
• Work roles
• Risk management analysis.
• Follow the design of the project plans you received in class. K drive has many templates you may choose to use to help you with your plan.
• Once planned you must then decide on
• Task sequence/duration (Note that task durations may be shortened by assigning additional resources, especially on those tasks utilising contractors)
• Project costs
• Resources required
• Once fully planned you will need to implement your project using MS Project 2010 prepare a project file detailing the project. Your project file should include appropriate tasks, milestones, and summary tasks, with appropriate dependencies. Resources, both work and material should be created using the costs detailed and assigned to appropriate tasks.
• Tasks must be logical and in sequence
• Must include timing
• Predecessors
• Resources
• Gantt chart
• Cost budget :- fully explained
• Monitoring reports
Final statement
• You should include the following MS Project generated reports:
• A copy of the Gantt chart. (The size can be reduced to approx. 60%-70% as long as it is still reasonably legible. You will need to use sticky tape to join the Gantt chart together and then fold into your assignment)
• A copy of the resource sheet view
• A project summary
• A cost budget report
• Your final summary should include
• Annotation of inconsistencies or changes you made.
• Aspects of your risk analysis that you needed to implement
• How you gauged shareholder satisfaction
• Overall statement of achievement.
