Content Synthesis and Discussion Question
For this week, we are playing the role of organizational detectives. Yes - we are the organizational version of Scooby Doo.
Think about the organization you work for - presently or a former employer. Identify a situation, problem, inconsistency, or repetitive pattern that detracted from the organization's effective operations. From lack of process flow to a rampant grapevine, issues are everywhere.
Now, how do you know there was a problem? What were the symptoms? For example, low morale, high absenteeism, nepotism, toxic environment, or high turnover.
Keep in mind, symptoms may not readily correlate to the root problem.
Time to play detective - provide an overview of the situation, observed symptoms, and your hypothesized explanation.
Then, conduct research to find a peer reviewed journal article that supports your observation.
