Assignment: Mission Statement
It is important for managers to understand that the mission should include the purpose, philosophy, and goals of the organization. For this Assignment, you will select a Fortune 500 company and analyze their mission statement in a PowerPoint presentation. You will probably want to use the same organization for all of the individual focus paper assignments.
For this Assignment, you will create an 8-10 slide PowerPoint presentation that includes the following:
- Title slide (1 slide)
- Mission statement (1 slide)
- Analysis of the mission statement requirements: (5-7 slides)
- States the ideals in a way than can be evaluated.
- Defines the business the organization wants to be in.
- Uniqueness - not transferrable to another organization.
- Has relevance to the organization's stakeholders.
- Is exciting, challenging, and inspiring.
- Recommendations for improvement.
- Resources (1-2 slides)
Criteria

? It is important that the slides be streamlined, interesting, and professional.
? The majority of the detail, analysis, and research should be placed in the notes sections.
? The slides should be easy to read.
? The presentation should have a minimum of four academically credible sources from outside of the course materials. Your sources should follow proper APA format.
