Analyze the given two Articles:
• Article 1: Cedars-Sinai Doctors Cling to Pen and Paper
• Article 2: The Conflict between Apple and the FBI
Each article discusses important issues affecting the work of IT professionals and you have already had some exposure to these issues, directly and indirectly. It is time to call upon your powers of critical observation and analysis while reviewing these articles. While a portion of us in this class may not work in IT we all, IT professionals and non-IT professionals, need and use the same skills.
For each article, prepare an analysis (3-5 double-spaced pages) of each article's issues, what you would think they should have done differently, and why. Remember, just saying it's so does not make it so. Let's have some supporting evidence please. Please note that an effective analysis is one that reads between the lines and notices the subtle things that end up having the biggest impact.
While reviewing your submission I will be looking for a critical analysis, logical argument, alignment to what you have learned this semester, and your detailed insight into the causes and repair of the issues presented in each article. I also am looking for critical thinking skills and your ability to be creative and persuasive using outside literature to substantiate your analysis, findings, and conclusion. Additive to the above, the final exam brings to bear what we have already learned when doing the individual project and the group project. Please be sure to include those skills when responding to each case study.
Responses will be graded on the following criteria:
• Content - incorporation of outside experts and material covered in the course, both read and discussed.
• Logic and critical thinking - the development of a conclusion based on an academic argument citing referenced evidence to justify a conclusion and presenting it convincingly and coherently.
• Writing - proper writing, including spelling, grammar, punctuation, and the proper use of the APA style.
