Cognitive:

The theory and process of cognitive behavior therapy (CBT) were made by Aaron Beck and outlined in a series of papers published in the year 1960s. CBT development was prompted by the observation which patients referred for psychotherapy frequently held ingrained, negatively skewed suppositions of themselves, their future and their environment. Treatment is mainly based on the idea that disorder is caused not by life events but by the view the patient takes of these events. It is a short-term, collaborative therapy, focused on present problems, whose goals are symptom relief and the development of new skills to encourage and maintain the recovery.
