first gear position when gear m1 is in mesh with

First Gear Position: When gear M1 is in mesh with gear C1 then this is first gear drive position. The gear C1 is freely attached to counter shaft, so gear C1 itself cannot rotate the countershaft. It rotates countershaft by the help of fixed gear C2. The fixed gear C2 slides on the countershaft with the help of shifter fork and comes in contact with C1 as a result gear C2 is rotated by gear C1. Since gear C2 is a fixed gear to countershaft, hence it will rotate the countershaft. The small size gear (M1) at main shaft is meshed with large size gear (C1) on countershaft. The bigger gear (C1) will make less number of revolutions than smaller gear (M1), hence the countershaft rotates at lower speed than main shaft; therefore the speed of rear wheel will be less than the speed of the engine.
