The system is released from rest in a symmetrical position with θ, the angle between O P and the upward vertical, equal to π/4. Find the energy conservation equation for the subsequent motion in terms of the coordinate θ.

Find the normal reactions of the cylinder on each of the particles. Show that P is first to leave the cylinder and that this happens when θ = 70° approximately.
