A bar having a cross-sectional area of 6 in. is subjected to an axial tensile load of 39,000 lb. Using Mohr's circle:

(a) Find the normal and shear stresses on planes with normals inclined at 75°, 65°, and 50° counterclockwise from a plane perpendicular to the longitudinal axis.

(b) Find the maximum shear stress.
