Two identical, square conducting plates of side length 4 cm are located at z = 0 and z = d = 1 cm. The plates are aligned to the axes so that on the plates 0 < x < 4 cm and 0 < y < 4 cm. The region between the plates is filled with a material having z-dependent conductivity, Voltage V0 = 1 µV is applied to the plate at z = d and that plate at z = 0 is at zero potential.

1)Find the magnitude of the current density crossing the plane z = 0.5 cm.

2)Find the magnitude of the electric field along the plane z = 0.5 cm. (in V/m)

3)Find the magnitude of the electric field intensity within the material. (in V/m)

4)Find the total current flowing between the plates in A.

5)Find the resistance of the block of material in ohms.
