Consider the ideal Rankine cycle shown below. The high pressue turbine inlet condition is T5=1000degrees F and P2=2000psia. The steam exits the high pressure turbine at P6=P7=400psia and is reheated to T7=1000degrees F and sent to the low pressure turbine. Steam is extracted from the low pressure turbine at P8=180psia and sent to an open feedwater heater. The remaining steam flow exits the low pressure turbine at the condenser pressure of P9=P1=1psia. Find the fraction y of the steam extracted to the open feedwater heater. Find the cycle thermal efficiency and the power output in MW of if the steam mass flow rate is 5x10^6lbm per hour.
