Discussion Post: Statistical Methods and Relationships between Variables
Using the Saint Mary's library database, find a quantitative research article from a social work journal and write a brief synopsis of its purpose and statistical methods. Your write-up should include:
a) Summary statistics (if made available by the authors)
b) Description of the variables and their hypothesized associations/relationships
c) Types of statistical testing used
d) Significant results (i.e., whether or not hypotheses were supported)
Finally, based on the results you reviewed, make a general concluding statement on the strength of the relationships between variables as depicted by your study. How convincing do you consider these results to be?
