Problem:
Find one or more pieces of computer equipment online (computers, printers, monitors etc.) with a total price of at least $10,000. Include the URL to each item you are purchasing in your post. make a 5-year MACRS depreciation schedule for the total of the equipment.
Use the list price as the total cost for the asset(s). Enter years 1-6 in the table. List the MACRS rate for each year of depreciation. Use Excel formulas to calculate the annual depreciation, accumulated depreciation, and end-of-year book value for each year of depreciation. Include the Excel spreadsheet in your post. Your name should be in cell A1.
In a summary paragraph, discuss how your chosen asset(s) will be used in your business. Do you think that a 5-year useful life is reasonable for the asset(s) you are purchasing? Why or why not?
