A plate 50 mm wide and 15 mm thick is loaded in tension. The plate is made from steel with yield strength of 1500 MPa and fracture toughness of 100 MPam. If the plate has a center crack of length 15 mm, determine the maximum load that can be applied for the plate not to fail by yielding or fracture (rapid crack extension). Assume the correction parameter for stress intensity factor to be 1.
