Woman's films are not a thing of the past, however.
Find an example of a "woman's film" made in the past 15 years and discuss how the messages it communicates to viewers are both similar and different from older "woman's films" (NOTE: you do not need to watch an entire film! You can find a film review online and read that instead).
Finally, take a stand: do viewers today passively accept what these new movies tell them? If not, how do they "negotiate" what they take away from the films?
