• Find a speech by an American or foreign leader (living or dead) that addresses some intercultural or cultural issues. Some examples of cultural or intercultural issues are terrorism, disaster relief efforts, world hunger, preservation of indigenous languages, or civil rights.
• Analyze the cultural values and beliefs that are expressed in the speech.
• How does the leader assume, build on or appeal to cultural values in the speech?
• How does a cultural analysis deepen your understanding of the issue being addressed?
