The well depth in certain locations is important for agriculture and for the development and maintenance of residential and commercial areas. A random sample of the depth to water (in centimeters) at the Upper Gordon Gulch Ground Water Well from 2011 to 2013 is given in the following table.
a. Find a 98% confidence interval for the population variance in depth to water at this site.
b. Find a 98% confidence interval for the population standard deviation in depth to water at this site.
c. Use the methods described in Section 6.3, page 272, to test for any evidence of non-normality.
