Feedback is something that is an essential part of good communication. It's a piece of the puzzle that if ignored or left out can really change the overall picture that is created. It is the way we learn from others what and how they are perceiving our message. That provides us with a measurement/evaluation tool that we can either use to improve our communication or we can recognize as an honest assessment. Either way it is a useful part of any communication.

When that feedback is advice -- requested or simply offered -- it can become more of a double-edged sword. And, of course, it is up to any of us to listen and use advice as we see fit. Still, that sometimes doesn't make it easy.
