Fea

if you find another software easier to do FEA in then go ahead and use that instead we are just interested in the results. What we need the FEA for is our housing being a depth of 500 ft. So basically a static load of 350 psi all around the housing. the inside of the housing will just be at 1 atm. The other FEA analysis we need is thermal. The LED produces 40 watts of heat. The heat comes out between the LED and the housing. The fins are there to dissipate as much heat as possible. The temperature of the water at 500 ft depth is around 65 Fahrenheit or 18 Celsius. We need to know that if its sitting in seawater at 18 degree Celsius and we turn on the LED with 40 watts of heat. How hot will the housing get and will it go over 150 degree Celsius because that''s the cap of the LED light before it fries. I thinks when the system reaches equilibrium state would be the best but if its transient analysis then when it would have to be fore a time of at least 15 minutes or more. But these lights are meant to run for hours at a time so equilibrium heat analysis would be best.

The housing also has a glass in the front where the light comes out through. we need to know how much stress would be on that glass if there was 350 psi on it as well. im sure that comes with the whole static FEA analysis but just making sure.
