The following is Standard in Pennsylvania for grade 9 in Family and Consumer Science: "Examine how public, non-public, and for-profit service providers serve the family."
1. Recognize "enduring understandings" that are important to this standard.
2. Recognize which facets of understanding from Wiggins & McThighe's six facets understanding will help determine if the students "understand."
3. Provide an example of what that would look like in the classroom.
