Problem: Families and children facing homelessness in the metropolitan area
We discussed in your groups, what is the issue, who is affected, how they are affected and the main causes. Let's go deeper! Need Assignment Help?
Step 1: Define the Issue.
- Develop a shared definition of the problem among the members of your group?
- What systemic barriers are getting in the way?
- What feelings are causing difficulty?
- What resources are lacking that would ease the situation?
[Individual responsibility. vs. structural issues]
Step 2: Decide who is affected and how they are affected by the issue.
- Who is affected by the issue and how are they affected by the issue? (And where you get the information from?)
- Who is the client? Who is most directly affected? Do you think you could get those people to advocacy for change? Who most directly benefits from the current situation? How much would those people oppose efforts to alter the status quo?
- How easily can you come to agreement regarding the proximate causes of the current situation that you want to change?
- What are three possible solutions to this issue? Which one would lead to the highest level of social justice? Would you choose to work toward a solution, or would you choose to work toward one that achieves less social justice but might be more easily adopted or implemented?
