1. Using the USFWS or your state's wildlife agency, choose a threatened or endangered species. Explain the reasons that the species is endangered. Explore what conservation work is being done to restore the species.
2. After reading the textbook, explore two different factors that lead to a growing population. Discuss the environmental and socioeconomic concerns of changes in population size. Is there a carrying capacity for the earth?
3. Many rivers such as the Nile, Yellow River, and even the Rio Grande and Colorado rivers have lost their flow or now run dry before reaching their outlets. Why is there a loss of water? What would it take to return these to a normal water flow?
4. Many places have issues with air pollution like Los Angeles, China, India, etc. Find a current event article about an air quality issue. Share the article, including the reference. Explain what is causing the issue and what is suggested to be done.
