1. Part One: Creating the Timeline

Begin by selecting a focus for your timeline. You may choose a broad overview that covers major artistic movements across multiple centuries, such as the Renaissance through Modernism, or you may focus on a specific historical period or theme, such as the Enlightenment or representations of women in art. Once you have selected your focus, research key events and figures relevant to your topic. Your timeline must include accurate dates presented in correct chronological order, historical and cultural context explaining each entry's significance, and a discussion of how these movements influenced society and later developments in the humanities, including art, literature, philosophy, and music.

You may present your timeline in Digital formats include tools such as Canva, or PowerPoint. The timeline should be visually clear, logically organized, and easy to follow. Each timeline entry must include images such as artwork reproductions, portraits, maps, or symbols, along with a brief explanation of two to three sentences summarizing its importance. 2. Part Two: Analytical Essay or Presentation

In the second part of the project, you will write a 500-word analytical essay that reflects on your timeline and follows MLA format. In your analysis, explain the rationale behind your selection of events and figures, identify patterns and recurring themes across different time periods, discuss connections between artistic movements and their broader social and cultural impact, and reflect on how these historical developments continue to influence contemporary culture.
