Problem: In Workshops One and Two, you have fully identified an issue impacting a local community or organization, obtained stakeholder feedback about the nature of the issue, considered personal and community or organizational power dynamics, and engaged in self-reflection about the issue. Now, you will summarize what you have learned, identifying the problems, issues, and conditions in the community or organization that will facilitate or hinder change. In the activity, you will clearly state the issue that you are proposing for change and identify support as well as barriers that will stand in the way of change.
Upon successful completion of this assignment, you will be able to:
- Explore injustice and the impact of racism and oppression within the social environment at local and global levels. (PO 3)

Background Information
Macro change efforts require careful assessment of the problems, issues, and conditions impacting the community or organization, as well as the driving and restraining forces that could affect the change efforts. Social workers, community advocates, and other stakeholders can provide helpful insight into the problems, issues, and conditions, as well as the community or organization's readiness to change. This activity will help you integrate your understanding of the issue with the stakeholder's insight about what currently exists within your community or organization. This assessment, along with other resources, will be the foundation for justifying your social action project proposal, due in Workshop 8.
