Shortage of Drinking Water "Mr David is a sharp minded business man and also the owner of XYZ Water Co. Ltd. He is quite updated and seeks opportunities to earn money. Along with his business activities, he is also engaged in the social circles around him. He is an active member of several NGOs and welfare societies. Donating a part from his income on welfare work is his practice. Mr. David comes to know that there is a severe shortage of drinking water in an underdeveloped area of Mauritius. A bright idea comes to his mind to avail the opportunity to earn huge profit. He arrives to that said area with a 5,000 litre tank of drinking water to sell to the people. He plans to sell all the water at higher prices as people are ready to spend their savings to buy and store drinking water. After few hours of his arrival, he is informed that a heavy vehicle of the Central Water Authority with drinking water is on the way to supply water free of cost. The poor people are still unaware of this news and not expecting help from the government and other welfare bodies. Mr David can make a huge profit if he does not tell the locals about the incoming of the vehicle from the Central Water Authority to supply water. Informing people will give him nothing."

(a) Ethical practices in business have always conflicted with huge profit. Discuss.

(b) By explaining the term Deontology, discuss how the actions of Mr. David in the above case relate to this concept.

(c) Elaborate on the principle of Consequentialism and analyse how it will impact on the relations between XYZ Water Co. Ltd and the people in the future.
