Problem: You are attending a Christmas party. Some people are leaving early as snow has started to fall and a steep drop in temperature and heavy snow is predicted for later that night.
One guest blurts out to no one in particular, "Whatever happened to that global warming we were supposed to be getting? I wish! What a load of bunk."
Write a dialogue below, between yourself and the misinformed guest. Start by politely getting his or her attention, then by explaining the difference between weather and climate. The party guest will then rebut what you have said with at least two other misunderstandings regarding global warming or climate change. Each time you will politely address the common misapprehensions given by the guest by presenting correct, scientific understandings in a manner that is easily understood.
It is up to you as to whether or not the guest changes his or her mind.
