1. Draw up a table or chart to show how alcohol, in terms of the consumption of standard drinks, can affect people in different ways depending on height, weight, gender, health, food intake, rate of consumption etc.
Explain:
o how these things might affect the time taken for alcohol consumption to affect the person.
o how alcohol consumption can affect a person emotions, health, physical and metal alertness
o how you might asses a person's level of intoxication
o how you might assess whether a person is affected by other drugs
2. Make a list of the times and circumstances under which people can or should be refused service of alcohol, according to the legislation in your state or territory and your enterprise's policies and procedures and explain how promotional activities and community education campaigns might be of benefit when managing responsible service of alcohol requirements.
Select, from your list, 1 example and describe what you would say to the patron when refusing service.
What would you do if the patron became argumentative, abusive or aggressive?
3. Explain what responsible service of alcohol means, what the benefits of it are, how it links with the relevant legislation (particular to a state or territory), the role of government and industry in enforcing liquor laws and how responsible service contributes to harm minimisation.
