I. Giving direct reference to at least three of our assigned readings for the module, explain the ways in which the use of performance-enhancing drugs is a reflection of broad societal beliefs and values. For example, does our larger belief in competitiveness and success support the use of performance-enhancing drugs? If this is the case, why do we look so distastefully upon athletes who use such substances?
II. Citing any of the reading and video content, offer a brief analysis of the impact that the steroid era in baseball had upon other types of professional sports? For example, did the revelation that many successful professional baseball players used performance-enhancing drugs make the public skeptical of other types of professional and amateur sports?
