• Identify and explain TWO structural forces that have shaped the individual and collective lives, as well as the historical trajectories, of Chicana/o peoples. Hint: you will find this information in section I of the first lecture.
• From the Almaguer reading (introduction), define racialization and briefly explain the relevance of this concept to Chicana/o history in the U.S. Southwest after 1848. You may also consult the lecture slides.
• Identify at least ONE legacy for Chicana/o communities of the Mexican American War of 1846-1848.
