Assignment Task: Pretend that you are a defense lawyer and your client has been found guilty. You are trying to appeal the case arguing that the jury was biased toward guilt. Make at least five arguments of things that went on during the trial that could have biased the jury toward guilt (e.g. death qualification, inadmissible testimony, etc.) Cite psychological research and then use your creativity to explain how it applies to the case you are testifying for. In other words, explain how specific things that happened during the trial might suggest the need for a retrial. In addition, comment on which of the research findings about the trial process you personally found the most surprising or interesting and why.
Make a brief essay in which you answer the questions above and explain to the judge your client did not receive a fair trial.
