Problem
Using a reliable source, find a RECENT (within the past 3 months) INTERNATIONAL (not domestic) event or situation.
1) Some domestic issues can be tied to international events/actors; however, there needs to be a US FOREIGN POLICY that can affect the issue.
2) For example, the rising gas prices is a domestic issue but can be linked to international events/actors causes. What might be the US's foreign policy be to address this?
3) In the first paragraph,
a. Describe the event and
b. Detail what the United States' current foreign policy/involvement is.
4) In the next paragraph, propose how you would change US foreign policy and why. (You cannot choose an event that you do not wish to change US policy/involvement). In your proposal for change, you must
a. Explain why you believe there needs to be a change referencing which foreign policy school of thought is best suited to solve this situation (refer to your book for these schools of thought);
b. Explain the various US government officials, agencies, committees and/or departments who have the power to bring about your proposed foreign policy change.
c. Discuss obstacles that you foresee in trying to make this change.
