Explain the types of hardware used in supermarkets
These use many types of specialist I/O hardware. For instance:
- Bar code readers/scanners (to read product details and enable automatic stock control)
- Point of Sale (POS) terminals - generally include bar code readers/scanners
- CAD output/input devices (supermarkets produce their own notices etc. and need this specialist hardware to carry out these tasks)
- Sensors (counting customers leaving and entering supermarket to enable efficient check out performance)
