Assignment: Art Creation & Reflection- Sculpture, Painting, or Drawing
Instructions
You will use your readings as a point of departure to create your own artistic production and a reflection paper.
Part I: Art Creation
Select one of the visual art pieces from Chapters 1 to 6 or the lessons to use as a point of inspiration. Create a painting, sculpture, drawing, or work of architecture inspired by your selected art piece.
Part II: Reflection
Write a reflection about the relationship between your art production and the inspiration piece. Include the following in the reflection paper:
1. Introduction
2. Inspiration Piece
a. Include image.
b. Record the title, artist, year, and place of origin.
c. Briefly explain the background of the inspiration piece.
3. Your Art Piece
a. Include image.
b. Provide a title.
c. Explain the background of your piece.
4. Connection
a. Explain the thematic connection between the two pieces.
b. How are they similar and different?
c. Are they the same medium? How does the medium impact what the viewer experiences?
d. How do the formal elements of design compare to one another?

Format your assignment according to the following formatting requirements:
o The answer should be typed, using Times New Roman font (size 12), double spaced, with one-inch margins on all sides.
o The response also includes a cover page containing the title of the assignment, the student's name, the course title, and the date. The cover page is not included in the required page length.
o Also include a reference page. The Citations and references must follow APA format. The reference page is not included in the required page length.
