Problem: Confrontation can create anxiety in newly trained counselors as the term itself suggests an aggressive stance towards the client. However, confrontation is an effective means at helping the client work through obstacles, such as resistance, in order to facilitate positive change. I've included an article on effective confrontation. Please explain the six types of discrepencies and provide an example of how you might use one in an imaginary case (or a real example if applicable) and anything you learned from the article.
