2. After graduating from college, you receive job offers from five different accounting firms. All job offers have a different compensation package. 5. Outline the possible work disincentives created by anti-poverty programs. Is there a way to solve this problem without causing other forms of inefficiency to arise? Explain your answer.

6. Suppose that the president proposes a new law aimed at reducing healthcare costs: All Americans are required to eat one apple daily. How would this apple-a-day law affect the demand and equilibrium price of apples? How would the law affect the marginal product and the value of the marginal product of apple pickers? How would the law affect the demand and equilibrium wage for apple pickers?

After watching Krugman's video this week, do you concur with the assessment that growing income inequality threatens the middle class? Identify a competing argument, paper, and theorist. In your opinion, who is the most qualified voice that dissents from Krugman's thesis? Why? Do you think that there is a moral or ethical factor in the growing income inequality? What can we do as a society to address this issue? What would be the best outcome for society? Why would that be the best outcome in microeconomic terms? Which author supports your position and why? Are there any legal issues that would have to be resolved regarding income inequality?
