Amanda called the Acme Supply Company asking for a job as Sales Manager. Acme had advertised the job in a trade magazine stating "Exciting opportunity for a Sales Manager with a leading industrial supplies company. $100,000 per year; two years to make good."
The president of Acme Supply, Becky Boss, agreed on the telephone to employ Amanda and she reported for duty the following Monday. Becky had also written Amanda, stating, "Glad you saw our ad in Supply World; welcome aboard!"
