Explain the difference between the entropy generation

Carbon monoxide in a piston-cylinder device is compressed from 1 bar and 37?C to 3 bar and 147?C. The compression process requires work input of 88 kJ/kg. The surrounding temperature is 27?C and the temperature of system boundary can be assumed to be average temperature of CO during the compression process.

(a) Calculate entropy generation (kJ/kg-K) within the piston-cylinder device.

(b) What is the total entropy generation (kJ/kg-K) during the process considering the piston-cylinder device and its surrounding?

(c) Explain the difference between the entropy generation within the system and that for the system plus its surrounding.
