Assignment:
For this part of the activity, you will submit a one-page response addressing these questions:
1. Should law enforcement officers inform a crime victim about victim impact statements?
2. Would it depend on the crime?
3. How would you discuss it with a victim?
4. How does this form and explanation of rights assist victims in the criminal justice process?
5. Would the lack of it change the process for them?
The second part of your assignment is to create two forms to give to victims. They should be one to two pages each. One form should outline the rights of a victim. You can include national organizations (or your state) that can offer assistance to victims, as well as the rights you learned in the unit. The second form should be a Victim Impact Statement. You can research and look at examples of both of these, but you must create your own. These can be included, following the one page section, answering the questions regarding law enforcement.
