Sustainability in operations management is regarding preserving natural resources for upcoming generations. A wholly sustainable operation is one which has a positive impact, or a zero impact onto the ecological environment. Many companies are beginning to see how their operations influence the environment and upcoming generations; they are starting to acknowledge new practices of performing business within a way which balances economic and environmental requirements. The ground of operations management has a vital responsibility to play in the long-standing sustainability of our economy.
