Assume that you are an advisor to a candidate for president in the next election. You are asked to write a position paper on the plight of the urban underclass (which of course you must describe, just in case the presidential candidates are not familiar with this segment of our population) and the federal policies that could address their problems. With reference to our text and an additional 3 peer-reviewed sociological articles, provide this position paper which indicates the policies that should be pursued and the political strategy that will make these policies possible and help make your candidate electable.
